We were responsible for undertaking of capacity analysis to demonstrate that the impact of the development proposals could be accommodated across the local highway network, formulating mitigation strategies where necessary.
We supported the level of car parking provision proposed at the time, which was based on a commitment to introduce an extension to the Metropolitan Line to this part of Watford. Following the removal of funding for the delivery of these improvements, the strategy turned to offering improved bus services, car club provision, cycle hire facilities and improved pedestrian and cycle infrastructure.
Following the granting of planning approval in 2019, we continue to provide assistance with subsequent S278 detailed highway designs and have commenced support on Phase 2 of the development proposals.
