Our Values

In December 2020, Markides Associates became an Employee Ownership Trust, and is now fully owned by the staff who work there. As a team, we have set our core professional values:

We aim to be a successful and sustainable business

We seek to be a profitable and financially sustainable business; this will enable us to pay our staff  a  competitive and fair wage and look after our own (and our families’) future. This also means looking after our clients with honesty and integrity and supporting each other in winning work and doing work efficiently.

We strive for technical excellence

We wish to be the best in our field and for our work to be recognised for its high quality. At the same time we facilitate learning from each other, take pride in what we do and celebrate our successes.

We are forward thinking

This has two elements: firstly, we strive to be innovative and ground-breaking in our work; secondly we will work continuously to acquire more knowledge and, where appropriate, more qualifications.

We cultivate friendships

We wish to work amongst friends and to be happy in our work environment as this will also affect our personal lives and families. In this respect, we aim to be transparent, open and honest. Above all else we are committed to each other and to a good work/life balance.

We are conscientious of our role in society

We do not wish to be an “island”. We are part of the world that we live in and we wish to make positive contributions to our society. We will work to achieve this through operating our business in a way that recognises our impact on the environment and climate change; our work to create a more sustainable way of life; through voluntary work for local charities and other worthwhile causes, and by promoting our profession to young people. Internally, we embrace diversity and inclusion and we seek to create a welcoming atmosphere.
