The focus of this project has been reviewing the regeneration opportunities and economic drivers within a number of key sites within the town centre area and along the waterfront to improve the East Cowes Area.
The Council is keen for the area to be enhanced with new facilities and appropriate housing to serve its population and help stimulate local and Island wide economic growth.
It is evident that the waterfront is prominent within the town, though segregated from it, either by large/ private employment sheds or limited access with busy functional areas such as the
ferry facilities.
Fundamental to the success of the regeneration, will be a forward-thinking transport strategy that relieves congestion and associated with the ferry terminals, provides appropriate parking, and puts walking and cycling first.
