Markides Associates played an integral role in this complex project, overseeing the transport planning aspects for the relocation of waste operations, street cleaning, housing repairs, parks, and countryside facilities to a new, state-of-the-art building. The upgraded Depot will provide better facilities for staff and improved council services to the community.
This achievement marks an important milestone in the development of the Weyside Urban Village, which will offer 1,500 new dwellings, retail space, healthcare facilities, employment opportunities, and community amenities. With improved walking and cycling infrastructure, a dedicated bus service to the town centre, direct access to the River Wey, and a bigger nature reserve, the development promises wider community benefits to both existing and new residents.
Congratulations to the whole team who worked on this project, including Transport Consultants Panos Floros, Matthew Hunter, and Andreas Markides at Markides Associates, Planner Jim Beavan at Savills, Project Managers Reece Costain and Graham Starling at Gleeds, Stuart Guarniere at AECOM, and Communications experts Michelle Morley and Nick Stanton at Chess Engage. We can't wait to see the progress of the Weyside Urban Village development!
