We successfully advised on two adjacent development proposals to provide some 600 new co living units in the London Borough of Ealing. The accommodation boasts a range of spaces and amenities to make everyday living as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Owing to the site’s location, we placed an emphasis on proximity to public transportation hubs and urban amenities. Therefore, reducing the reliance on private vehicles and allowing for innovations such as bike or delivery sharing at a meaningful scale.
As the land use was not defined in the London Plan, this approach allowed us to develop a bespoke car parking and cycle parking provision that was agreed with the Borough and TfL.
As the site was located adjacent to a residential area, a modular construction method was proposed. Modular construction allowed each pod to be constructed ‘off-site’ in a controlled factory environment. The modular units are then transported to the desired location and assembled on-site, with minimal disruption to the surrounding areas during construction.
