We provided all transport planning advice for the redevelopment of the former coal yard at Ferrybridge ‘C’ power station. The hybrid application sought the development of 152,691sqm of B2 and B8 land uses. We undertook extensive pre- and post-application discussions with Wakefield Metropolitan District Council (WMDC) and National Highways (NH) to ensure the suitability of the transport evidence presented in support of the application, using WMDC’s strategic model to assess the impact of the development proposals.

From this, agreement was reached with respect to the highways mitigation package to be provided in support of the proposals (which includes a segregated footway / cycleway provision from the site to the wider highway network, the development of two new roundabouts on the B6136 and the provision of an ‘all movements’ signal junction on the A162).
We are providing further guidance with respect to Reserved Matters applications (RMAs) at the site, offering detailed layout advice to ensure the suitability of the onsite arrangements for the intended end occupiers.
