We have been heavily involved in this project from feasibility through to planning consent and detailed design.
Our work has led to progression of a comprehensive sustainable transport strategy for the site including the design of a new sustainable movement corridor, highway improvements, a new bus route, new segregated cycle lanes, new footpath connections and an innovative mobility hub, all supported by an ambitious travel plan.
Extensive traffic modelling has been carried out as part of this work across the spectrum of modelling packages; strategic modelling, local junction modelling and microsimulation (VISSIM).
Extensive stakeholder liaison has been conducted with the local authority, Surrey County Council, National Highways, bus companies and the National Trust among others. Including reaching agreements on a number of complicated planning matters such as common land exchange, relocating existing allotment pitches and a new pedestrian bridge over a historical waterway.
